Dr. Kathleen Woodruff
Kathleen Woodruff, M.D. is a retired U.S. physician and the founder of English for Medicine, specializing in OET preparation and clinical English for medical professionals.
She specializes teaching medical English to healthcare professionals to help them achieve their goals practicing and working in English speaking countries. Dr. Woodruff practiced medicine for over 20 years, first as a student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, then as a resident at Mount Sinai hospital, and lastly in a private OB/GYN practice in Rhode Island for sixteen years. Her medical experience allows her to share practical insights about medicine in the United States.
She has been teaching English since 2019, earning an ESL teaching certificate and OET knowledge badge. Prior to that she taught medical students and residents as an associate professor at Brown University Medical School. Her teaching style centers around conversational English used to talk with patients and peers, understanding medical terminology, and comprehending English idioms and expressions commonly encountered in the healthcare setting.
